In a recent development, Stellar Lumens has been added to Coinbase’s cryptocurrency exchange.

On Wednesday, Coinbase Pro announced that they are accepting deposits of XLM. They added that trading support will be added for the digital currency once sufficient liquidity has been established. This process is expected to take at least 12 hours. The cryptocurrency is yet to show up on Coinbase website or its iOS and Android apps.

Jed McCaleb, co-founder, Ripple was the person behind Stellar, while Lumens was intended to be a part of a low-cost payment network.

The blog post published by Coinbase said

“Since it’s launch in 2014, its vision has been to unite the world’s financial infrastructure so that money can flow quickly and cheaply between banks, businesses, and people. The Internet connected the world’s computers so that information can be shared globally. Stellar aims to do the same for money.”

The announcement to consider listing XLM was made last December by Coinbase. The exchange identified over 30 different digital currencies. Since this announcement, the crypto exchange has added support for District0x, Loom Network, Civic, Decentraland, XRP, Dai, Golem network and Zilliqa.

XLM’s price saw a 30 percent in the past four days, 5 percent of which came following Coinbase’s announcement. The digital is currency is presently trading at $0.11.

Stellar has also become the most traded cryptocurrency in the past 24 hours, achieving a trading volume of a whopping $14 billion.
