A cryptocurrency mining firm in Norway has received bomb threats over the rising levels of noise pollution. Kryptovault, a company based out of Norway starting getting bomb threats. This event followed a newspaper article which reported that increased noise pollution was the reason for the lack of peace.

The threat letter said “If you are expanding crypto mining and filling the country with noise, then you will be sabotaging the peace. I am threatening to send you some explosives.”

The company immediately informed the local authorities. Gjermund Hafesaeter, Managing Director, Kryptovault said that the company is taking this threat “very seriously”.

The news article which seems to have led to this situation published this news back in June amid noise complaints from local residents. Apparently, cryptocurrency mining was the culprit for this rise in noise levels.

To find a resolution to this problem, the company has scheduled a meeting with the local residents in the city of Dale. Notably, the company has multiple mining facilities in Norway, three of them are located in Dale.

Furthermore, the company is planning to implement new safety measures for its employees and facilities. The Managing Director said that the Dale facilities are far more accessible and instructed the employees to stay vigilant in case of suspicious events.

Cryptocurrency mining has grown rapidly over the past few years following the rise in demand for Bitcoins.
