Libra Will Not Reach Before 2023 Says Ripple CEO

Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple thinks that Facebook’s cryptocurrency Libra will not launch before 2013. Recently in an interview with Fortune, Mr. Garlinghouse argued that Regulatory concerns would constantly increase to plague the project which was announced in June.
The Ripple CEO said:
“I would bet that Libra… let’s say, by the end of 2022, I think Libra will not have launched.”
He also mentioned several issues raised by governments around the world towards Facebook over its digital currency plans. Recently, the French finance mister stated that the country is planning to block Facebook’s cryptocurrency Libra in the EU over concerns that it might lead a threat to the sovereignty of national currencies. Bruno Le Maire, Economy and Finance Minister of France was speaking at the opening of an OECD conference on blockchain and cryptocurrencies in Paris, France.
Le Maire said:
“I want to be absolutely clear: In these conditions, we cannot authorize the development of Libra on European soil.”
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple also revealed that the company has no intention to follow Facebook in creating its own cryptocurrency. During an interview with French media magazine Les Echos, the CEO said that Apple is not looking forward to launching its own crypto.
“I think maybe it would have been better received if Facebook had not been the point of the arrow.”
