“Just Beware” That’s all Jamie Dimon Says About Bitcoin
That’s Jamie Dimon, CEO of Wall Street investment bank J. P Morgan Chase, who with CNBC in a section alongside billionaire investor Warren Buffett. Throughout the joint interview, both Dimon and Buffett were asked over their point of views on cryptocurrency – A topic that, for both of them, has to start more than a level about discussion – And which one “hates bitcoin more?”
Indeed, Dimon infamously marked bitcoin a “fraud” last fall – however, he after the fact reportedly said that he regretted those remarks.
Today, his comments were far more measured, for Dimon letting the network (according to with a distributed transcript.
“I– I don’t wanna be the Bitcoin spokesman. You know, beware.”
Buffett remarked that “I set a high standard” with his comment – he said in January that cryptocurrencies “will come to an awful ending” – and included that “I don’t know whether Jamie can top me or not.”
The outspoken billionaire said in May that bitcoin, to him, will be “rat poison squared.”
“[Bitcoin] itself is creating emptiness,” he told CNBC at the time. “When you’re buying nonproductive assets, all you’re counting on is the next person is going to pay you more because they’re even more excited about another next person coming along.”
