EXMO’s Head Finally Found and he is Safe

As the recent report, EXMO’s IT specialist, Pavel Lerner was recently kidnapped in Kiev, Ukraine on December 26. Lerner was forced into a Mercedes-Benz Vito by unknown attackers wearing clothes and balaclavas during the afternoon.
Authorities were investigating the case, and U.K registered cryptocurrency exchange EXMO said it as doing all it could help find Lerner. Quartz says, the exchange recently released a statement revealing it managed to get a hold of him, including that,
“Safe, and there was no physical harm inflicted on him.” It stressed he is currently “in a state of major stress.”
“Pavel will not provide any official comments, Pavel’s abduction story has overgrown with rumors that might tamper with the official investigation.”
Pavel is a leading analyst at the exchange, he is not a director or CEO, and he is a blockchain expert who can separately lead the various projects. The company said that his role cannot be used to access its user’s financial assets and that the platform is still running ass usual.
“EXMO team is deeply grateful to the cryptocurrency community and the media for their active support. We promise to timely provide any updates on the situation.”
As of now, EXMO is the 20th largest cryptocurrency exchange and one of the most famous exchanges in Ukraine, which is worth a $133 million daily trading volume. It offers various crypto to fiat trading pairs, including the crypto to Russian rubbles as well. Currently, it has around 90,000 active users trading on its platform.
Lerner’s kidnapping and current details are not yet clear. EXMO announced that Pavel himself is recovering from the incident, we will have to wait for the investigation to progress.
