Stanford computer scientists to launch Blockchain Research Center supported by Ethereum Foundation
Members of crypto startups and associations are sponsoring a new blockchain research center headquartered at Stanford University. The Center for Blockchain Research is uncharged by Dan Boneh and David Mazières, two professors who have major in blockchain and digital currencies. The research equips plans to “develop best practices” for blockchain by bringing the universities researchers and the industry’s top managers together, as stated by a press released by Stanford Engineering.
The website for the center records the initiative’s sponsors, for example, the Ethereum Foundations, Protocol Labs, and the Interchain Foundation. OmiseGO, DFINITY Stiftung, and Polychain Capital have likewise supported the research center.
Ethereum maker Vitalik Buterin, who co-founded the Ethereum Foundation, tweeted around the undertaking ahead June 20.
Boneh, who is a professor in Stanford’s School of Engineering, said of the center’s launch:
“Blockchains will become increasingly demanding to do business globally. Stanford should be at the leading edge of efforts to improve, apply and understand the many ripple effects of this technology.”
The center will concentrate on outlining a blockchain educational program to both students and working professionals – a move that’s maybe not surprising, provided reports that such classes have seen significant interest during a few U.S. universities.
